Born in Vermont and raised in rural Pennsylvania, Scott has always revered the resilience, strength, and diversity of America’s natural landscapes. His formal training in writing, literature, and publishing naturally led him to…horticulture. While working at a nursery and volunteering for a botanic garden in Southern California, Scott turned his passion into profession and developed his own business in landscape and gardening. Scott currently lives in Washington state and is a production manager for a landscape design and build firm. As a landscaper and gardener, Scott has cultivated a great love of trees and plants that spans decades.

His passion for working with the natural world has lead him to the world of green wood working. The Pacific North West offers him a plethora of opportunity to find many different species and sizes of wood. Knowing a good tree pruner doesn't hurt either. The pieces he uses are from fallen or hazardous trees. Rather than chipping them up or hauling them to the dump, it is his wish to create timeless pieces of art; and if not art, at lease some cool bowls and spoons.
